removing wing mirror covers

ive tried searching but ive found nothing, how to you get the wing mirror covers off?

pop the mirror glass out and theres 4 clips inside the mirror push them out and the cover should pop off. im sure all renos of this era are the same

I used a plastic wedge underneath on the joint and it just pops off

fold mirror in to window get a big flat screw driver/knife and slowly prise cap off no need to take glass off at all.

i found folding in the mirror makes it easier to remove the cover, just have to pull it off, could use a trim tool to lift it

by popping the glass out it makes it easier to get at the clips that hold it in and you dont have to risk scratching yoiur mirrors with your screwdriver.

the glass pops in and out anyway so its not exactly taxing! id rather do that that damage my mirror
