IIRC you have to chop a part off of each end of the base and pull the leather/cloth taught and then it will fit. There was a guide somewhere but I cant remember where. Loads of people fitted 19 16v leather interiors to clios.
The ends of the metal base gets cut possibly the foam too then the leather/fabric pulled taught so that it doesnt appear wrinkled when fitted to the car. As i say it was a long time ago and cant remember if it was on here or RSC but I've seen a guide in the past on how to do it.
