Renault Clio Mk2 book won't open

Hi,

I have a Renault Clio Mk2. The boot won't open. I am able to get it to open after accessing via the backseat () but when I then close the boot it's jammed again. I can't visually see any problem with the latch, which doesn't mean there isn't a problem just that it isn't blatant enough for me to see. Am I missing something really obvious? What should I do?

Common problem. I fixed mine by buying one of these and following a YouTube tutorial. 15 min job.

Thank you Kosy. I'm not very handy and a little worried I'll make it worse, but I did put in a new car battery so let's see.

Is a smart approach to swap the new actuator/solenoid "in situ", if that works great, if it doesn't swap the whole unit?

So - good news and bad news. I changed the actuator and it certainly seemed to be the problem but ... I must have done something slightly wrong. It makes an unusual sort of motor noise, but it's not actually locking and unlocking.



What do I need to adjust?
