Hi Everyone, new to the forum!
I have a Renault Clio RN Provence 1997 with about 75,000 on the clock. It has a very intermittent misfire that some days can be really bad and other days it wont be there.
On idle the car drops between 200 and 1000 revs and makes a slight popping sound, when driving it you can put your foot to the floor and it just has no power with a constant misfire then coming. It only does this on certain days, though recently it is becoming more often.
I have changed the plugs, leads and the coil pack! Still nothing and im not technically the best with cars and i have taken it to a garage but the misfire was too intermittent for them to pin point it although it is alot worse now. If holding the accelarator down to long whilst its misfiring i do get a smell of burning though im not sure if its chemical or electrical etc..
