Renault database Probs Jeremy, pls look!

  Clio 197

Hi all,

Some of you remember that I had trouble ordering a set of rims for trackday use.

Basically, Rimstocks computer tells them that ANY clio from 98, apart from a V6, requires an ofset of ET38. They wont sell you anything else (although the 182 manual clearly states ET45).

So I thought, wait till they arrive... The wheels & fitting kit arrived.

The fitting kit (which included four Spigor Rings) was totally wrong. The box said "Renault Clio" on it, yet the Spigor Rings were 56 instead of 60.1.

I spoke to Rimstock, and they said: "Weve supplied the correct wheels & parts according to our computer", "we work very closely with manufacturers, and even supply some of their factory fitted parts".

Where on earth did they get their database from?!

So, is Renault supplying them with the wrong info, or are Rimstock making things up as they go along?

Oms.

Rimstock are completely incompetent mate, theyll say anything if they think itll get a sale. I had a nightmare with them a couple of years ago trying to buy wheels for my 172. I ended up getting my money back and going to Demon Tweeks.
