Renault Free Service Check

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4

According to the book one at 6,000 and one at 9,000, manager in work had the 6,000 not so long ago but am sure I have heard that they have stopped doing them now. Can someone who works for Renault confirm this? Also, when is the first service for a MK2 172? 12,000? and how far over can you go before voiding the warranty? and is it 12,000 or a years ownership from the date of purchase?

Cheers,

Gaz

I think all new Clios get a free check at 6,000 miles, the lesser Clios then get a servive at 18,000 miles or 2 years from new and the 172 gets its first service at 12,000 miles or 2 yers from new.

According to the book all Clios that have had the last service done at a Renault dealer are entitled to a free interim check midway between the next service - which would be 3 years or 27,000 miles from new and (I guess as the service book doesnt clearly say) 3 years or 18,000 miles form new for the 172.

I tried to book mine into Abbercromby in Edinburgh (who are now Arnold Clark) yesterday for its 3 year/27,000 mile check and was told they were no longer doing them as Renault have stopped paying for them. I also tried booking it in for some warranty work and they said they werent interested and I should take it elsewhere!

I have e-mailed Renault to check that they have stopped the interim check and will post the answer when I get it.

that sounds out of order, i think you will find that they probably have to carry out warranty work. I would have thought its not an option.

Craig M- Where did you get the car from? Abercromby (now A***hold clark) have had no probs doing warrenty work on my car and although its abit early to tell the level of service doesnt seem to have been affected by the change over.
