Renault Specialists North Wales and Chester area

Does anyone know of any good Garagesround these areas?? i need my 172 servicing and wanted to kow if anyone could recomend a good specialist.

I can only recomend the dealer in Chester for good service. I don't know of any local garage who knows about the 172 real. Then again most stuff you cna do yourself for free labour.
For cheap work try Lewis Read but only go there for a dealer stamp as there useless.

my service light keeps lighting up so i am guessing it needs a service, only did it the othe day so havent read the book yet! lol

so i was guessing i needed to take it to a dealer or specialist so they can plug it in etc

The serv light doesn't indicate the car needs serving only that theres a problem.
The 172 should be serviced ever 12k or 2 yrs whichever comes earlier contary to what some dealers say about it being ever 18k (there wrong).

There usually another light on the dash comes on with the serv light if not then its probably the oil level check that.

edde the airbag light come on too with the 'serv' light. think it is the passenger airbag light (top right of dash). any ideas??

it normally comes on when i go on the motorway, dont know if that has anything to do with it. it has has a session of comming on 2 times and last for the journey then goes off, it is normally long journeys

checked the oil the other week wasnt anywhere near min,.

Arr right its a common problem have a look here

Being as its a bad conecting wire it can go on and off all the time fiddle with the wires and the light will do off. To get rid forver take it to Renault shounldn't take them long to fix its a common issue.

if thts the case i might do for now, if i fiddle under there when its not lit am will i find it lights up, cos they are rarely on when i have stopped

You could I'd get it fixed quickly personally as I found it to annoying to live with. Its a bad connection so its difficult to know what will stop it coming on.

ok, will go to the dealers on the weekend. i need a rear wiper blade anyways, as halfords says they dont have one on a mk2 phase 2 clio!!??

Yes they do I've bought one from Halfords for my mate it didn't fit the plastic cover bit wouldn't fit and its to long but all you need to do it buy any wiper blade of the right size and cut it to fit.
£6.50 or so from a dealer from memory with the plastic cover so its better than having to modying a Halfords etc one.

Yep its up in the lake district I think.
I forgot what I was told last time I was there it might have been £200 its expensive as some other places ie GDI and Rentech charge £140 or so but there a long way south. Plus its a Renault dealership not a small garage.

Yeah gonna ring around a few-I guess as long as it´s stamped and the right oil is used im not too fussed.

takes 1.5hrs
oil and filter change,
visual check over of the brakes and underside of the car and engine bay...
top up screen wash
Pollen filter if required
Air filter check
road test

at the moment we are suppling free wiper blades as well with winter services.
