Renault Specialists North West?

  Honda S2000
I need my 172 Cup servicing as it's on 36k. I just rang Arnold Clarke and they said £280. I'm thinking of getting it done at a Renault Specialist instead of a dealer. Anyone got any recommendations?

Cheers, Kelly

well its not a renault specialist but my mums company has all their cars done there, 10 BMW's (all new), various mercs and the boss's Aston DB7 and they really know their stuff, good prices. they are the type of garage that has such a reputation that they can pick and choose what work they want to do. They are called Victoria Garage in Stockton Heath, have my MOT's and loads of my work done there.

Cheers. I don't know if I want Full Renault Service History, as long as it has full service history that will be ok... won't it?? It's just nearly £300 for a service on a clio seems a bit steep!

personally i feel if you get a good independant dealer who you trust their work is of a better standard than that of a renault dealership so when your warrenty is up id take it to a reputable indy. As long as you can ring up the garage that has done the services to ask about the car and to confirm what has been done then the fact it doesnt say 'Renault' in the book means nothing ot me. I bought a BMW E39 523i SE with more history than a small 3rd world country, all genuine BMW, after owning it for a week the head gasket blew, the block cracked and new engine needed. it only had a service and check up at BMW 3 weeks prior to me buying it! so it may look good but in all honesty i dont feel it makes one little bit of difference so long as the garage is a good one.

The 36k service means you need the auxilliary belts changing IIRC? Hence the steep price.....

I use riverside revilo in Stockport, their an independant renault specialist, and a service is something like £160. They even use the elf oils. I was chatting to the owner, nice bloke. I like the service you get their and their all down to earth. 0161 429 8331

When Renault UK coughed up 80% of the cost of my gearbox it was largely because I had carried on with dealer servicing even after the warranty period had run out.
