My 172 has Xenon/HID lights, and i need to replace one of the headlamp units (the lights work but the glass bit is a mess). Are they the same as the standard units, or are they a special item? I've been on eurocarparts website and the unit they say will fit mine also mentions Halogen bulbs, and i dont want to order one if its not going to fit/work.

What do you mean by a bit of a mess?
As in scratched / Cloudy? If so dont buy a new lamp (Expensive!) Just wet and dry sand the light and then give it a good polish!

A lot of a mess, as in totally cloudy. On closer inspection, my dipped bulbs are H7...i'm a bit confused now as i was under the impression that all 172's apart from cups had xenons. Mine has the headlight washers and no adjuster down by the dimmer wheel, but appears to have standard lights. Its a 2001 model, so the first of the newer shape.....i've only just got it so i wonder if its always been like this, or could it have had the xenons swapped for standard nlights?
