replacing batt terminals

  silver valver/hybrid

right todays task was to get rid of those stupid screw down things that renault have kindly put on the battery terminals, they really are crap, my positive side one was battered and loose so it had to go! first bit was to dissconnect the battery

then come the most scary bit, chopping off the loom connectors:eek:

then it was a case of putting on the new terminal and fixing the loose wires in,

i made sure everything was ok, like the car starting, then disconnected again to fit the power cables

and there we go! much better! the old connector only needed a light pull for it to come totally off. next step is to do the negative terminal, but ill do that when i upgrade all the earthing points.

nice!! ive seriously gotta change mine, everytime i take the positive connector off, i have to bend the connector so it gives a tight fit.

i got that one off http://www.caraudiodirect.co.ukwww.caraudiodirect.co.uk think it was about £6. better than the crappy ones at halfords they are selling for £12. i was very concerned about cutting the old connectors off in case it all went wrong, i even had to undo a loom support cus it wouldnt quite reach the terminal. all worked out in the end though!
