Replacing Driveshaft

Car  TrackCar & F30 330d
I'm replacing my drivers driveshaft and i want to know if you can take it out with out undoing the shock as i dont want to loose my cmaber setting. Can it be done?
Also what gearbox oil will i need to replace the stuff that will fall out? Will the gearbox oil have been replaced in it old services?

Any help appriciated :)

The drivers side will come off without having to drain any oil. You can try separating it at the bottom ball joint and disconnecting the track rod but i doubt your suspension will allow for enough movement of the hub to get the shaft out.
