Replacing Front Speakers

Am going to replace my front door speakers on my 2002 clio.

If i get the same size speaker (5.25 speakers), do i just take old ones out and connect new ones up using same wires?

Also will new front speakers produce more base or just better quality.

ooo another 1.6er! xcellent. well mate the standard renault speakers have like plug things on them. u have to chop these off and use the wires to go into ur new speakers. its an easy job andwill make a difference expect a significant difference from a new hu combined with new speakers. there will be a little more bass yes but if u want to get serious bass get an amp and sub.

Rather than chopping the existing plugs off, buy some adapters. That way you can put the old speakers back in when youre finished.

Theyre only a few quid.

Since youve replaced the head unit, youll get both, more base and better quality at higher volume.

Thanks for the advice.

What adaptor exactly do i need to fit the new speakers? Could i pick it up from nearest audio store.

Also should i replace the speakers in the dash (not sure of name for them) and how easy is it to replace them :)

the speakers in the dash are called tweeters. they are only used for higher pitched sound. if your uprating your system.. i wouldchange these for higher powered tweeters.

i think the cover on the top pops off..... but im not 100% sure
