Replacing outer CV joint.

Im gonna have ago at doing this tomorrow, ive got the part, and i see they dont have a cir clip just a C shape ring.

Any tips on replacing it?

Am i right in thinking as soon as ive got the hub etc off, it will be basically knocking it off, putting new one on filling it with grease and then putting the boot on?

Any help would be awesome.

could use a cone (tool) if u got one or can get hold of one

cheers, well i got the drive shaft out today and appears i have to buy a whole new shaft

Well i took the driveshaft out so is easier to seperate, but it had like some wierd cv joint with 3 balls in it etc, wasnt sure how to seperate them, so i took it to a garage and asked, i was told that the type i had couldnt be knocked off or anything so a new shaft was needed.
