Just supposing I'd been dumb enough to not remove my aerial before going through a car wash....and just supposing the car wash ripped it off including the screw thread bit inside the black plastic aerial base.....how would I replace that?>!?!?!

On a serious note, you can remove the base from the inside of your car. Ever wondered why there was a little plastic circle above the rear seats?
i replaced mine y-day, dead easy.
Under the little plastic circle as stated, and theres also 2 slidding clips to the rear of the roof lining, unclip those too.
May be worth taking your 3rd seatbelt thing off as well, as that will restrict alot of movement/space beyond the roof lining.
Take these 3 off, feed ur hand in over the top of the roof liningand undo the bolt (21mm? iirc), and then lift it off from the top!
10 min job, if that
