Reprofiled cams?

I know nothing about camshafts...

Whats the deal with reprofiled ones? Which companys do this and whats the difference vs new cams (say catcams etc)

Car is a 1.6 16v k4m btw...

Just called piper cams - They said due to the size of a 1.6 cams (too small) they cant reprofile them, and they dont cast new cams either for the reason that they arnt popular so no casts are available. But; catcams do a steel-based cams (more expensive manufacture process) but apparently they cost $$$

I wouldnt bother doing this on the 1.6 pal just save your money and trade it in for a 1*2

come on danny boy with the money he would spend to do it with the labour cambelt etc he could just trade/sell his car for a 1*2 you no it makes sense
