Reset and Restore Mac without disk?

I've sold my old MacBook and need to delete everything. How can i restore it to factory settings without the disk?

Does it have lion installed?

You'll need a copy of Lion on a USB stick/disc.

I guess you could create a new user and delete the old one.

However, i'd be pretty vexed if i didnt have the restore discs. (on a non lion machine)

It's a non lion 07/08 machine I sold it stating no disks supplied but thought is be able to delete everything without them

That's probably cheaper/easier than trying to get SL discs.

You have a MacBook Pro as well yes?

Boot it as a firewire drive and format it in Disk Utility.
