Reseting Windows Vista password...in need of help!!

  Monaco Blue 172 (56/468)
I bought a new Vaio laptop last week and have been using the same password for the last 4 years on other laptops and not had a problem until today, read somewhere most likely hackers but I dont see how:mad: !! Says I am typing incorrect password which I know for a fact is the right password - have tried about 10 different solutions/downloadable password programmes which wont install on my laptop without the password and im running out of ideas!?:( Even paid for some software which guarenteed to work but it didnt....anyone else had this problem before and found a solution.
Thanks!!

i saw today on a laptop at work that you can make a password recovery disk with vista. On the Ctrl, Alt, Delete screen. Dunno how much help it would be.

il try but think it only works for the guest account im on and also need the current password

Cant you just boot into safemode and reset the password using the windows option? I know you can in XP, might be worth a try in Vista.

Can you get to Administration tools in Guest Mode or in safe mode?

Go to computer managment, local users and groups, users, right click your user and set password.

You may loose some data. unsure if thats true or not
