Resetting climate control panel ? coming on full blast on AC

Any help appreciated, is there any way to reset the control panel. Every time I hit auto on the control panel the fans come on full blast with AC.
I also cant put the windscreen one on without engaging AC either.

Thats how it works i'm afraid and they all do exactly this.

Auto shouldn't put it on full blast unless the temp sensor is gone or under auto you have the temp set to min.

For the windscreen though, AC should come on.

Cheers. How do you set the auto fan setting, the resistor pack was repaired a couple of years ago so hopefully it's not gone again.

Can you not see a temp on the panel? You set the temp using the red and blue buttons, then you press auto for the car to automatically keep the car at that temp

I will give it another go. Yeah I have full control over the panel, just every time I hit auto the fans always come on full blast. I will try hitting auto with them set low but I am sure I have tried everything with it because it's been doing this a while.

Is it defaulting to the Windscreen position to? If so, as already above, this is why it's going full r****d

You don't set the fans low on auto. It's the part that it does automatically. It's the temperature you set. If you've got the temp set at either min or max it'll go spastic. Put it on 21, then select auto and give it a few seconds.

For the sake of 30 seconds work I'd also unclip the interior light and check to see that you've actually got a climate sensor plugged in. If not then I think it would permanently go spastic regardless.

Someone may have unplugged it previously to stop the fan going as it's annoying as f**k when it starts being noisy. You can however just unplug the fan wires from it.

Yeah it does default to windscreen, always comes on full blast when I hit auto,
I have to manually turn the fan down, turn AC off, turn off the one that blows in your face and press the footwell one on.
Never have to adjust temp always got that at 22/21

So when you hit auto does the light on auto not come on? Does the windscreen option light up instead?

update, when I adjust the settings to what I would like to have when I press auto, It just goes straight to the mental settings again.
Tried everything, think its goosed.

Just set it to the settings you want, and ignore the auto?

Have you checked to see if the sensor is plugged in by the interior light?

Small thread hijack lol...is pressing auto the only way you can turn it on? That's how it is in mine,if it's turned off you can't just press the fan buttons to turn them on etc it has to be the auto button??
