Respray cost for bonnet?

Good price that! Bumpers a doddle to get off. 6bolts iirc...Couple underside.

Skirts no need done? Insides of mine were gubbed from stones off the tyres!

I've just had my front bumper re-sprayed, plus part of the rear bumper to get out a large chip...was £650! Proper job though, also bearing in mind it's Liquid Yellow. Took them 7 hours and 10 attempts to get the match perfect.

I've just had that Ventureshield fitted on the bumper too as I don't fancy paying out that much on a regular basis! You can polish over it as if it's paint, still comes up just as shiny.

You can see the edges if you're looking up close, otherwise it's invisible. I'd rather that than have loads of stone chips and pay for re-sparys every year though. It can be taken off at any time without doing any damage.

What did the shield cost? Can PM if you'd rather. (Dawn may be interested too tho) Tryin to guage whether it's beneficial to me. 200 is what i generally pay for a bumper job, every 6-8 months. But if the film chips and scratches then i'm not sure its worthwhile.

All I will say is, working in a bodyshop myself, DO NOT cut corners when it comes to bodyshops. The place I work is probably the most expensive independent bodyshop in Stirling, only the main dealerships will charge more, and we have had loads of work in correcting jobs that have been done at other bodyshops a lot cheaper than us that have ended up looking utter w*nk.

No point doing cheap especially on something like a Vee and for someone who's as much of a perfectionist as yourself Magpie.

AR its good stuff, my dad first got it for his CBR n you can only see it if your looking for it, he's now got it for his K1 im thinking about getting it for mine once ive had it polished (stops the old swirls re-appering)

I paid £200 for it on just the bumper. ( I have it on the wings too but the guy included that in the price as a favour because he had to cancel my first appointment) I can't say from experience yet as I haven't had it long enough, but it's not supposed to chip or scratch, it's pretty durable stuff as long as you get the proper Ventureshield and not a cheap make. It has a lifetime warranty too so if it does look s**t after a while it should be covered.

I was quoted that from them too (I enquired last year) tbh I thought it was a bit excessive for some plastic stuff (nice three year guarantee though) I left it, since then i've only picked up a few stone chips.

I never really wanted it before but when I bought my car a year ago it had about 2 tiny stone chips on the bumper...a year on there were thousands! And after paying out for a re-spray, I didn't really fancy letting it get that bad again so I thought I'd just go for it! It is quite expensive, but cheaper than a re-spray!

Yeah I know what you mean, luckily i'd only collected a few since i've had it (two years now) I guess you've picked up yours as you drive it on a daily basis ? Mines just a weekend/after work thing

Yeah it's probably picked up quite a few getting driven most days, even though it isn't far May have to invest in a run around soon!

I got it painted at Maldon Carbody, in er Maldon lol. Decent place, only used them as they were recommended by someone on here who also has LY (I won't put who just incase they don't want it displayed on a public forum )

I wanna see how the stuff looks, an ex boss had it on his M3 ages ago, it looked like it had been keyed up from about six feet away, yours sounds like it's a lot lot better.

I see what you mean about it looking keyed, but where I just have it on the bumper you can't really see the edges unless it's up close. The only noticable bits are where I have it on the wings as they stop half way down. When the cars clean it's pretty much invisible, when it's dirty you can see the edges more, but it's probably worse as it's a light colour.

This dude had the bonnet bumper and fronts or the rear arches done with it, it was a Phoenix Yellow car (puke gold to everyone else lol)

I did speak to a place in Essex, they wanted £280 + vat! I think some look better than others as I remember looking at a LY V6 at Renault ages ago which had it on, it looked pretty crap tbh, kind of put me getting it.

£200 Plus vat would be a fair price No blends just the bonnet and any stone chips remove or 'nicked in' so to speak.

Black does not need blended 90% of the time.
