Restoring 172 sports seats

Gliptone is Awesome Stuff - Not clicked on the Link you posted but it should be a 2 Stage Process

I use the AG leather cleaner and leather care, does a good job. If you have stress marks showing the fabric weave underneath get some of the lotion that colours it the same as the leather.

Gliptone is very good imo. Just follow the instructions. Try and do it on a warm day as the leather absorbs it better.

Failing that you may have to look at leather dye depending on how bad it is, but gliptone would be a very good start.

Did mine yesterday, tend to do it every 1-2 months.

Thanks for this post....As soon as I read it I went down and Gliptoned my 182 seats. Looking good and the lush leather smell is back!!. Great stuuf Gliptone!!!!

I will be doing mine later I think as I have nothing else to do Today :(

I find Gliptone better on really proper leather not the stuff Renault have used which is a very thin bit of leather bonded to some plastic. Most of the seats such as the backs and sides of the front seats are just vinyl anyway

Gliptone and Autoglym tend to leave a finish of there own to the leather, Einszett Leather Care of Zaino Z9 and Z10 are my choices as they both leave the leather looking as it should do. They are the only two products I have found to leave a totally natural apperance.

I believe you can but would dread to know the price - the Alcantara can easily be sorted with a pack of Bic razors.

**WARNING** Just went down to see how the Gliptone was looking. DONT USE IT on Renault cheapy leather. This is the first time I have used it on the 182. My last car which I bought the Gliptone for was my Mondeo ST220. It worked a treat on the ST220 leather. However on the Renault cheapy stuff its makes it look horrid. Really dull. I had some Autoglym leather care in the garage so have redone it with that and it has come up nice!! Just thought I would share my experience!!

After the Autoglym!!

If you buff it well after as your meant to the gloss will reduce a bit but still always remains to greasy for me after.

Thanks for the input guys, sounds like it will need re-colouring as there are, what looks like cracks where you can see the colour has gone from the blue to white, will check & get pics tomorrow ;)

Touch off subject, whats the best way to remove the actual covers?

Thanks,
James
