Restoring the shne to dulled paintwork.

Parents have just bought an old Rover and after a wash the rear quarter is massily dulled its matt wheras the rest of the car is quite bright metalic. Assuming its not a respray (possible as the paintworks not that good) whats the best way of getting it shinny again.

Also how do I do the toucup on the car its got quite a lot of scrathes and since its dulled the paint touch ups will be the wrong colour.

PS cheap is better.

Brillo pad, and lots of elbow grease.

Do the rest of the car, so that it all matches.

I quite like matt/brushed finishes.

Pc probably the only way, may even need to be rotary, and will take alot of work.

Touch up, apply with c0cktail stick or similar, build up layers until it is raised from surface of car. Very fine wetsand to level and smooth it. Then lots of scratch x and hard work/PC.

If it is really flat in comparison to the rest of the car sounds like bad repair. First port of call is see how it polishes up, working by hand Megs Scratch X is your best bet.
