Revised Intake System - 1.2 16v

does anyone know anything about the changes renault made to the intake system on the 1.2 16v engines after 2004?

i notice my mums 05 car has a simmilar noise to mine now that mine has an induction kit fitted(untill 4,500rpm, when mine starts to roar) but hers is the standard air box! hers also seems to pull a bit better.

anyone know why it was changed? was it just the inlet manifold that was changed? whats needed to convert mine? what makes the newer style better?

Hers probably pulls better as it's got the original airbox still on place.

Later cars got the intake manifold same as the 80hp Micra 1.2.
Its better but not hugly.

the old inlet trail was about 1.5 mtr long, the new one is a much better one

if your ik isnt sealed or you havent got a heat shield, that could be why. as hers got more miles on it? that could also be why.

nope it will the new inlet, dutt_112 was a much louder engine than mine,had more poke stadard too

Induction kit is on a k-tec relocation pipe and it was pulling harder after it was fitted.

mine is at 120,000 miles and hers is at 22,000 miles

so is the 80hp micra engine the same as the renault one? so it will be about 80hp too just renault didnt bother to update specs etc?

what about fitting the new manifold to a pre 04 engine? anyone done it and is it worth it? costs involved?

ive got a mate who can do all the work for me but hes never owned or tuned renaults so doesnt know anything about them, hes a vauxhall man

new engine is different uses a different throttle body and ecu so you wont be able to change any of the bits

bollox was kinda thinking that because its got the ECU behind the battery now and feels quite a bit different to drive from mine, that could be down to millage though.

its got more torque than standard my birds got one but its still dog slow i rag the pants off it when shes not looking ha ha

Get an cat back stainless on there mate, should make it a little bit more free flowing...

Aye it gave it that little extra kick mate.....motorsportworld done mine, twin 3" cat back stainless..304 stainless steel, been on the car nearly two years now and not one single bit of rust.

ive got a couple of pics on my computer of it, looks good think ill get a twin 3" too, i did want a single 3" but think ill go for the twin.
