Revs flaring when clutch is in...??

  Turbos.
Whenever i depress the clutch when decellerating the revs are going up by 500-1000rpm, this is on a PH2 172. Any ideas?

Cheers

Stupid as it sounds but check your floor carpet isn't cathing on the pedal enough people have been caught out (including me) before now on this.

Otherwsie does it do it when the cars stopped and idling might be showing there an air leak in the system?

Any other problems with it?

  Turbos.
Funny you should say that as it happened in my old Clio and it was the carpet! Naturally it was the first thing i checked this time so it's not that...

Can't say i've noticed a problem when idle, as it's always felt hesitant.

Could be the throttle body is dirty (thats the best hope). Otherwsie could be a sensor acting up or expensive a new throttle body there useless the Phase 2 ones.

  Turbos.
Now my car also doesn't start first time... yet there is no loss in power. It starts second time without hesitation.

Currently the emissions light is on (i thought due to my cracked CAT), do you think it could cause the problems above?

  clio rsi!
throttle control valve? hit mine sorry "tapped" mine with a hammer and it controlled it and brought it back down, took it all off and cleaned out all the carbon crap, along with dirt in the throttle body and shes been fine since, jus use brake cleaner or something (if it turns out this is the problem! if not ignore my post ;)........)

  Valver
When this was happening with my valver it was a buggered throttle cable, i was coming off the throttle then dropping the clutch but the cable was sticking which was causing the revs to stick longer
