Revs the limit ????

  Clio 220 lpg
With me standard conrod stud letting go on my last rally (with hitting the wrong gear) I have bought some k-tech racing conrods and also doing the obvious things like ballencing the crankshaft etc. so the question is what will she rev two now :approve:

its not just the strength of the bolts/balencing of the componants that will enable it to rev higher. there are alot of other factors in it. for instance the crank throw has a major part on it.

8K is safe

the rods are available cheaper else where btw ;)

nothing wrong with standard rods, they'll happily do 8K all day long

taking to people I was told the cranks are very strong and with the conrods being 20% lighter I should be able to rev upto 8 3/4
My thoughts were to change gear at 81/4 and rev limit at 81/2 (if the power figures on the rollers work out) any thoughts do you think it would last ok

the bottom end isn't the problem IMO, its the head you have to be careful with at those rpms, i personnally wouldn't go past 8K

you need to have the entire bottom end assembley balanced, crank, flywheel, clutch etc

mine easily screams to 8.5k on 280'degs, and standard rods (forged pistons, full balance etc etc).

im sure it will still be making power past this aswell (not mapped yet) however ive got some H section rods on order...just to be sure!

i can supply H section rods at a very good price mate...i can also provide a full dynamic balancing service of the entire crank-train (crank+pulleys+clutch cover+all bolts). Pm me for more details
