Road Rallying Brakes.........

While competing on 12 car road rallies with my 1.4 Clio I have noticed a juddering through the brake pedal whilst braking harder than normal.

I wondered if anyone could tell me if this is just the ABS working or do I have some sort of problem. I have never driven any sort of car with ABS before so I dont know if it would be normal to feel it through the pedal. Any advice would be very helpfull.

Boxing day 12 car result.... 2nd overall......1st novice....and the team award 2 more trophies for the cabinet :D

If the pedal is just juddering when you brake hard and not at any other times its just the ABS working.

Where do you go road rallying? What club you in? You compete in all nighters?

Isnt Rd rallying where you have to map your waya round and arent allowed to go above the spd limit of the rd......

seems like automotive orienteering.........

Ben...I thought road rallying was where you get hold of an old banger, strip it out and put a roll cage and harnesses in it, fit about twenty lights all over the front of the car, then cane it about across miles of unlit country lanes at about 2 a.m. trying not to crash and ignoring all the speed limits?

ok, i see........

just mistaken it with the other kind which seemed dead boring.

Anyway, why teh jump from escys and talbots etc to a 1.4 clio!?

I do road rallying with a mate in a 1.6 205 GTI, and yes it is old, roll cagged, bucket seats/harness and pencil beam spot lamps.

And we NEVER break the speed limit, I mean who needs to when each stage is planned out so you can do it at 30mph not including the time to work out the navigation????? ;)

BTW he drives, I navigate.
