Road Tax Question

hi guys, well to cut a long story short my mot ran out 3 weeks ago as i cant get hold of a handbrake cable to get it through an mot, well ive managed to get a cable from the scrappies and its coming on monday morning, problem is my road tax runs out on satarday!

do i need to declair the car SORN by satarday just to re-tax it on monday afternoon when its mot'd?

how do i go about re taxing it when the cars SORN?

sure you will be fine, i bought a car from a boy (arsehole) and never changed the v5 i then sold the car on but it was still in the original persons name - it was never retaxed/sorned and he never got the fine for it. so am sure couple of days will be fine

my car only got tax about a week after it ran out, and the MOT was due also. nowhere could do the MOT and it was a bank holiday weekend...and i had to raise it up to get it through the MOT which took another day up, it should be fine for a week or two as said

My mate is always forgeting to get his tax sometimes been up to 3weeks all they do when in the post office is back date it, he has never had any fines! disclaimer im not saying its ok to do this:nono:
