It is lovely of each government to continually increase road tax on anything I would be remotely interesting in driving, its fantastic watching them spend the money fixing the roads too.

Wot? I was driving my daughters twingo the other day on covered 3rd party on my insurance and ended up follow plod for half my journey . Anpr camera is on the front right?

Yeah, the VED is a piss-take. It's a incremented random value based on nothing other than trying to force people to jump ship to the Battery Brigade.

I've no real issue if it was based on logic. But if I do 500 miles per year or 20,000 - I'd still pay the same amount. If they were so focused and precious on emissions and the environment, shouldn't the high-miler be paying 40 times as much? And we all know of weird crossovers of the likes of the S2000, where pre-2006 cars are prized for their lower VED. Despite the later made cars having the exact same engine.
