Road trip to scotland in september??

As the title says i fancy a road trip to scotland Ive said for years that I was going to go so if anyone is up for it the more the merrier!


So not much of a plan yet but I am going on the 2nd,3rd and 4th of september thats a friday saturday and a sunday. not sure where to go yet i just one to go and get lost for a few days and at some point go to Loch Lomond and maybe stay at Cameron House on Loch Lomond and maybe a night out in one of the citys.


so anyone up for it or know wheres best to go???

Me and Jon.G went to Fort Bill a few years back, the roads up there are brilliant, Glen Coe is a must for the scenery, traffic can be a pain though. If you're going up there the A830 Fort William to Mallaig is perfect! 42 Miles of probably the best driving I have ever done, scenery, smooth(ish) challenging tarmac, and it all ends up by the sea

Personally you'll only find trouble here if you look for trouble! The people are generally nice/okay, as with most city centres its the arsehole bouncers as usual.

Loch Lomand is brilliant too, plus isn't too deep into the hills! Depends how far you're willing to go, Isle of Skye is stunning too, and the ferry leaves from Mallaig iirc. Another nice photo opportunity that is little known about is down Glen Nevis, basicially its a single track road that leads round the base, and to the back of Ben Nevis, starts in Fort Bill. Also the road around Kinlochleven, in Glen Coe is amazing, the road goes really quite high so vertigo sufferers enter at your own risk! If you're not fussed about petrol and time, then Fort Bill is probably the best start point, head in any direction and you will not be dissapointed, Spean Bridge and Ft. Agustus to the north, Glen Coe to the south and Mallaig to the East. Enjoy

I go up to Mull via Glasgow and Oban for the Tour of Mull Rally in October and it's a mega drive up there. The road along the west side of the Loch Lomond is stunning and so is the road on the east. Mull has some awesome roads. You can take a ferry from Oban that takes about 45 minutes. There's stunning scenery on the island and lots of wildlife especially deer. They can be a menace at night in the forest sections so be aware as they can make a huge mess of a car if you are unlucky enough to hit one. The stags are colossal! Look on You Tube for clips of Mull Rally to give you some idea what the roads are like. They are all tarmac but mostly single track with passing places. Callum Duffy reaches speeds upto 140+ at night in his Mk2 Escort on the rally!!!
