Roof bars issues - 182

Bought a set of used gueuine renault roof bars from gumtree as below

Has anybody else got these?

If so...
1. Im guessing they both should have a protective rubber pads underneath not just the front?
2. How the hell do you fit the rear one? I thought that it was just one bolt and it'd extened?

Yes all 4 should have rubber pads.
You also should have a special key to tighten them, goes in the hole at the end.
The rears clip over the edge of the window frame., fronts go over the door frame.

I have the key but can't seem to extend the metal bits on the rear to extend out so that they go over the rear window frames. Any ideas? Renault wouldn't provide me instructions without buying a new rack.

front is fine.

oooo i bet you have the 5 door version, the 3 door version has larger plates to get down to window frame.

That's what I'm worried about - found a link to these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/renault-clio-roof-bars/192174564827 which seem to be the ones I want. I just assumed that the rear would have extendable plates.

Glad I've got a refund for the seller for missing parts now.
