rotten eggs smell

What's the deal with the rotten eggs smell in the car. I have had a look at the cat and the exhaust and there are no obvious leaks (not blowing)
has anyone any other ideas what could be causing this?
When I turn off the climate control, no smells, but this is hardly ideal!
Or is it that the cat has reached the end of it's useful life.

I am tempted to put on a decat pipe but emissions law/MOT is making me have second thoughts.

Thanks for any comments

:)

rotton eggs hmm gearbox box oil comes to mind. Check all around gearbox especially where the n/s drive shaft attaches as there prone to leaking

smells like a cat ;)

when driving my other car, wih cat , i get this whenever i push it hard for a while

Check your battery, they can degrade and give off a rotten egg smelling gas, make sure the sides of it are not bowed and there are no leaks. Batteries are Very dangerous when they are like this.

your probably got a cylinder / spark plug problem, and too much petrol going into the cat, which will make it stink, my car did this when runnign on 3 cylinders as ht lead broke.

i thought this was the aircon issue found quite common....could be wrong mind you but there is a odoriser spray you can use to clean it out
