Rough When Cold

  RenaultSport clio 172 mkI
I have a 2000 clio 172 which is very rough and spluttery when cold. The rev counter jumps all over the place. When it warms up, it's not so bad but it still splutters every few seconds. Any ideas? Thanks!

Mine tends to run a little rough when cold, particularly in warm weather strangely.
I shouldn't worry if it clears after a few minutes.

Cheers people. You have all made me feel a hell of a lot better about it! It' so frustrating though because I can't drive it yet. (No tax or insurance). Having never driven one of these properly; I bloody excited about it!

Anyone know how much a steering whell retrim would be?

Really? I'll give it a go. I can't believe that 97 would make that much difference but you all know more than I do about these cars.

Like I said; anyone know where/how much a steering wheel retrim can be done? It's a mkI not mkII as my ID states.

So whats best; Optimax, Ultimate......etc etc? I have all those close by. Just wondered which to try. I used to have a V6 Vectra and couldn't really tell much difference

Cold start problem.. 16v

when i start the valver from cold it start fine but then dies straight away as soon as the revs come back down.. if i put a few revs on it really struggles to get up to about 3k and as soon as i let off it stalls again, this has only happened since i removed the vacumn pipe from the map sensor. when the car is warm the car idles perfect.

i have replaced the coolant temp sensor, lambda sensor which sorted my kangoring when warm, plugs, leads, dizzy cap and also cleaned ICV twice

any suggestions guys
