I have sky broadband 10meg service (apparently) and it connects to my pc via a usb wifi adaptor which is operating at 54Mbps, will this affect my download speeds?

Nope. (Unless you're wireless is performing at less than 10Mb, and your Sky Broadband is getting you 10Mb )

If your signal is good etc, then I'd say you;d be getting around 20Mb/30Mb to the router so it's fine.

yeah i doubt its giving me 10 but its cheap!!!
whats a good site to reliably test speed?
