RS 200 cup on order, handles/side strips...?

Hello Everyone,

New to the forum, I have recently ordered a Clio 200 cup in racing blue.

However, as picky as it sounds I would like the silver handles and body coloured side strips as per the 200.

I have a few questions:

1) I dont think it is, but is it at all possible to get my car configure with the silver handles and body coloured side strips (racing blue)??

2) If the above is not possible, can i simply buy these parts seperate at a later date and fit them? If so can you buy the side strips already painted??


I know the above sound like bizzare questions but i wanted to weigh up my options now as i still have time to configure.
I have already configured a GT spoiler etc. But wanted to know if things like handles and side strips can be configured (even if they are not in the brochure).

If anyone knows the answers to the above before I ask at Renault (and they laugh at me lol..) that would be great.

Silver door handles means it has keyless

You could source some bump strips from a breakers as all MK3's are the same.... i had mine detextured as i hated the finish on mine, smooth ftw!

Ah i see, i didnt realise the silver handles meant keyless entry.

I guess i could be orginal (although i am sure people alrdeay have) and get another set of 200 handles painted in racing blue and then a set of side strips done in racing blue.

Silver door handles sound simple, but rememeber they have the buttons for lock/unlock on the keycard FF version. (which may cause a problem both to source and re-sale)

Being matt black, I suspect the handles and side strips would be pretty difficult to have smoothed and sprayed.

I'd leave it!!

They look better with the black handles/bump strips, kinda brakes it up somewhat. I was having a nose around a 197 Cup in Nimbus with black speedlines, it worked well on that!

Well i think i'll probably leave it for a while, and then maybe go down the route of colour coding if i choose so at a later date. I'll just get a bodyshop i know to do all the spraying as they'll know how to get the plastics sprayed properly.

If you had bought a black Cup then the mirrors/door handles/side strips would have matched

Colour coding the existing strips would be an option but is it worth it?

I'm a great believer in keeping it standard...

If you really want them that way then just get them painted or keep your eyes peeled for a crashed 200, shame Ibranch (sp?) sold his as it was only a matter off time (again) ;D

Your right you cant configure 200 cups in black so id ignore that, chances are hes got a token cup ie normal 200 with cup chassis optional extra.

Nope - Mine is a straight Cup (although I did also spec A/C and Recaros)!

For the first 6 months that they were on UK shores it was possible to spec a Cup in metallic black, I think it was a £500 option (need to check my original delivery and invoice), but this changed in November 2009 when black could no longer be specced for the Cup.

I have a 197 cup and have colour coded the side strips and I think it looks better, though before I did it I thought it looked better with the black strips.
