still love the mid range torque of a turbos motor, even moreso when tuned and setup properly, remember driving a few modded RS turbo escorts pushing out 240bhp and 200+ torque a few years back, all with low lag conversions, the pull in 3rd and 4th was astonishing to say the least

A though occured to me today on this subject actually, the 172 I had was very "cammy" and below 4k was pretty unresponsive, obviously the way they set them up to give the incredible mpg you get on the 172 which is great, but when you rev it and it comes on cam you get a turbo like shove and you have to keep it above 4k to avoid dipping into that economy zone so to speak.

If you were blindfolded and drove the 172 and then jumped in the 225 and had to guess whoch was the turbo car you might think that the 172 was the turbo because of this sort of lag effect as the power delivery on the 225 and from what Ive read other cars like the leon, golf gti etc is pretty linear

If you they turbo it it wont be as good. It would be less responsive which would make it crap on the exits of bends and so on. Would be good in a straight line but the small hatches are about corners.
