i no this sounds very stupid but how do you save the cal file onto your computer?

Yes you do mate, as Henk said, read the manual it explains it all in there.

i mean from the internet sorry.do you open the ile then save or save the link?

Download it to your desktop - right click, 'save as'. then when you click 'write cal' in RStuner a window will pop up and you browse to the saved file on your desktop and click 'ok'.
