RS Tuner Procedure

im about to go home and fire the map onto the 172.

can someone explain what needs done in the way of writing a copy of the existing (standard) map, and loading the new map (s)

i have a specialist map from henk for a decat which i would like to load aswell, but i think the gruup n then 98ron one needs loaded first

Paying an extra £40 or so for an extra license allows you to flash another car I believe. Contact Henk for explicit details on that one.

userguide from the website?

you need to download the maps from the site,
then match the ecu file to the cal file, load ecu first then cal!

ecu file can take a whilst, but cal only a few seconds.

Just loaded the may08 remap with my decat and there is some difference, totally different power delivery and alot faster lower down in the rev range!

In all honesty my advice would be to read the manual, and not ask on a forum that has nothing to do with Rs Tuner worst case scenario email henk he is a decent guy who will answer any questions or concerns your may have

i'v just been on fastchip and within 2mins have found a .cal and .rst files both for 7300 if this is the version you require

Is this a Clio forum for Clio Enthusiasts, to ask questions, discuss products and do all other things clio, or a place for people to put down other people, for asking questions about something that they may be worried about doing?

I have asked questions in the past on other forums that I could have found the answers for in a manual, but for reassurance and peice of mind, I have seeked guide from someone who knows what they're talking about. It doesn't make it 'Stupid', it's simply someones perogative! I mean it's not like he's making a pizza, he's retuning his car. My mum's Pc went into safe mode one morning and she thought the world had collapsed in on her!

This is a clio forum and I suggest if you don't want to help someone, then you don't reply. If you want kicks for getting one over on someone, try a chat room.

Now before this goes off into realms of what makes a good and bad post, can we please stick to the topic at hand and stop this school yard crap.

Matt, if you're really worried about doing it after reading the user guide, I will be getting mine through very soon hopefully and I work in computing, so I'm quite happy with doing it and advising you afterwards if your wish.

As suggested, you may also want to email Henk, but I emailed him a couple of days ago with a query and he's not yet got back to me, so he may be busy at present.

Taking if from another point of view if he'd searched he'd have found this has been asked before like several other questions that get asked over and over again. True, buy the time some1 has paid 50 euro to unlock to another car then 50euro to unlock back to theres, then charged you to remap yours you mite aswell buy a new one plus you can change maps whenever you want and use it for performance analysis and fault digagnostics
