When you make a backup of you current ECU software/data, is that saved as an rst file? i.e, can the backup be used to restore the ECU completely without the need of an additional rst file if I change software versions?

You should be able to backup the ecu firmware and map separately, only issue I found is I couldn't downgrade firmware after so the original map I had couldn't be used! Not sure how to get around it, but don't plan on changing back anymore anyway

Just a archiving update; I emailed Henk, and apparently the full ECU backup is a .rst file. I haven't tried it yet to confirm, but will post back my result when do!

Ok confirmed that the full ECU read creates a .rst file, will have to check the procedure for getting it to write back after I have mapped the car (should be doing that tomorrow)
