RSR Tyres=Uniroyal Rainsports

Just got a quote of 300 quid from these boys for 4 x 205-40-17 Uniroyal Rainsports, fitted and balanced etc, good price I think, what does everyone else think ? Also, what are these tyres like grip and wear wise ?

Id check out the price on Mytyres.net first.

My contis were really cheap for the clio and got delivered next day. I also ordered a Michelin Pilot for the M3 on friday for almost half price, only £232!

Just checked mytyres £80.70 delivered, then Id have to pay to get them fitted, so it looks like RSR tyres will be receiving my money ! Does anyone have/had these tyres, are they good before I buy four of them ?

these tyres are very very good for the money, i havent tried the likes of Eagles etc, but i reckon they will be very close to them, if not better......i simply cant get my back end to slide at all with these tyres

300 for 17s... Uniroyals.. you cant complain at that I wouldnt have thought.

I have Rainsports. IMHO they are similar in performance to the contis (probably because they are made by the same people), but possibly* have more superior grip (especially in the wet) & wear better.

* Ive not had any other makes of tyres on my 172, and Im no expert. There have been a number of posts on this forum about the Rainsports - do a search.

I founnd the uniroyal rainsports were good grippy tyres better than my dunlops sp9000 which i have on at the moment. They probably wont be as good as the rainsports tho cos the profile is 40 so there is less tyre wall

Rain sport are kings

massive grip in the dry and wet. have noticed that they get better when wet. had mine for 6000 mile and wouldnt change them for any other. price is decent to.

Wicked, thanks for the info, shall deffo be getting some on all four corners as soon as Ive had my alloy refurbished that my G/F kindly curbed for me at the weekend !!
