RT Gearknob (embarrasing question!)

As you lot probably can tell i know f**k all about cars other than how to drive em. Ive got a new gearknob but cant get my standard one off! How do i get a f**ker off? Sorry for the lame question but need to know! Cheers

i had the same thing on my 16v so your not alone !

you need to use mole grips on it,

but if you want to keep the old one you will have to give it a sharp twist with your hand so as not to f*ck it up , they are not threaded they push on, i think they are prob glued aswell to stop them turning when u change gear

Try warming it up with a hairdrier worked on all my old cars, just dont let the missis catch ya!!

so its just a case of twisting it of? but with a bit of blood and sweet involved? lol. nice one cheers. when i get home ill try n rag it off. got some pedals and side repeaters (woooo) to put on too which no doubt ill get stuck with lol, well with the repeaters anyway the pedals are piss easy i hope

mine just pops off when you pull it but obv dont do that if you want the old gear knob

do i need to turn it clockwise or anti-clockwise? im gettin a beetroot head tryin to get the fcuker off but it aint budging, so i wanna be sure im trying to turn it the right way! lol

Well, it aint fun.. looking for it under ya seats.. its very hard to change gear without it.. heh.

i twisted mine off........try both ways......there isnt a thread on it so it wont make a difference which way you do it but if you do it both ways it might start breaking the glue up so that it will come off
