RUK recall letter received today?

  Audi A5
It's more of a safety check than a recall.

sending a letter doesn't cost that much.

It's not the plastic part causing the fault, it's corrosion build up around the moving metal parts.

service history or not, metal rusts, get over it.

Piss easy to fit a new one yourself, two 10mm bolts and a clip that just pulls off.

Well considering its a recall think I can expect them too if its needing done and if its important enough too send all these letters out recorded post and pay all that money they can afford too fix this it's not my fault they put poor plastic latches on the car instead of a decent durable ones and it does have a fsh for your info not always dealership but when it wasn't was always done at a Renault specialist also and I look after my cars very well since I've bought it there's been no expense spared on anything!! If it comes too having too pay then il buy my own and fit it but doubt it will

The catch isn't plastic .

I ain't got a sticker and I ain't got a letter cause. I just bought it any ideas

The sticker could have come off ! Mine wasn't stuck on that well when i had it changed a few weeks ago so i pulled it off and stuck it my service history booklet with the recall letter . Just for proof that it's been done .

End of day they want too check something so it's being "recalled" that's my opinion which I'm entitled too and too charge £95 for it too I could get the parts or even aero catches for half the price and fit them myself

As said before . If your letter states they'll check it and if they find a problem they'll offer to fix the problem for £95+VAT , then it'll already have been recalled and replaced for a previous owner and Renaults records will show this . Renault won't recall and rectify this problem every so many years because people thinks it's their duty to . Your only other options are to either do as you say , replace the parts yourself or lubricate it yourself and hope you never have a problem were the bonnet comes open as your driving , that will cost you alot more than £95+VAT !

That's right? You're right?

I'm a bit rusty on my Polish.

Either will suffice ;) . The recall letter may has well been written in Polish because obviously some people don't understand the difference in the catch being checked over and offered a replacement FOC if needs be or having it checked and offered free lubrication and advice because it's already been done in the past :approve:

hi, I missed a recorded delivery today but not expecting anything so think it may be this...

i have a 56 plate clio but I wasn't the person that bought it directly from the dealer, would Renault still have been able to find me to send a letter by where the car is registered?

any help appreciated! This random letter I can't pick up yet is puzzling me!

thanks

I wouldn't be surprised if you tried to claim of you insurance and this wasn't done that the insurance company would have a fit about paying out

  172 CUP
Well it's only on there for another week or so (Whilst not been driven) then Aero catches fitted.

That's actually a very good point you've made there . If you turn down the offer to have the catch fixed knowing there's a potential problem and then the bonnet did come open at a later date and cause alot of damage , how would your insurance company deal with the claim ? Depending on the insurance company , they might try and wriggle out of paying up .

Couldn't be happier with my main dealer. Bought the car privately last Monday, had the bonnet catch play up, got it booked in for Saturday. 45 minute job, replaced with new parts, very helpful customer service. Did a once over the car and didn't try selling me a new (insert part here).

Good job! Loving the car btw, 172 Cup

My later came in on Friday. There's a receipt to say it had been done about 5 years ago but I'll get them to check it again for piece of mind.

Does anyone mind scanning this letter and sending this to me?
Bought my 182 in the UK, but I'm in The Netherlands right now and so is the car. Won't be getting the letter here.
My bonnet opened this weekend on the highway, but was fortunately was catched by the bonnet catcher saving my windscreen.

Booking it in tomorrow at the local Renault dealer to sort out the lock &catcher and just came across this thread.
Would be great if someone has a scan/copy of the letter so I can show them:approve:

I've had my letter through for ages now, I'm not bothering. I'm getting the Clio valued and sold soon anyways.

:star: was free and took about 45 minutes... they didn't wash the car though! Also I didn't get a sticker or receipt which is a bit annoying for when it comes to selling it.

I got one of these through today, I don't really want the Renault monkeys touching my car,
does anyone know if they'll give you the part to fit yourself?

I got mine today, although the postman posted it through the door without getting it signed. I got mine changed 1 week after I picked the car up anyway.
