basically wen i turn the wheel past forward towards right turn even a little bit then something starts 2 rumble quite low but u can hear it above traffic noise through the car, as soon as u turn the wheel left and back to straight forward or left it goes completely???!!! i was thinking drive shaft or something but that is a complete guess lol

which side is the noise comming from?

Wobble each wheel by holding it on the 6 and 12 o'clock position, then the 9 and 3.

ah rite. so id have 2 jack it up and do the wobble test? and if it is the wheel bearign is it a hard/expensive job?

fuk that! how difficult is it 2 do myself? or wud i need a press 2 do it? how much for the parts?

sounds like your front driveshaft or maybe your front velocity joint m8,had the same problem with me 172, i changed it and problem sorted.'worth checking'

how bad was ur 'rumbling' mine is quite quiet but u can here it come on and off if u wiggle the wheel there is probs a bit of minor vibration on the wheel aswell. if it turns out 2 b a drive shaft does any1 knwo if the valver or williams driveshaft wud fit fine on the 1.4 engine?

and is a driveshaft a cheap/easy job?

it ddint seem 2 b wobblign wen i checked but the weight of the car was on the wheels r u sure i dnt have 2 jack it up?

To check the wheel bearing you have to ,jack the car up until the wheel you are about to check is off the ground , then put one hand on the top of the tyre and one under the the bottom of the tire , one at 12Oclock one at 6Oclock and rock the wheel top and bottom this will detect if there is any movement on the bearing

MAKE SURE IF YOU GOT IT JACKED UP PUT AN AXLE STAND UNDER INCASE THE JACK GIVES WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

yep wud have done mate, will i also have 2 move the wheel aroudn a a few times and try differnet parts?

if you also put it on full left hand lock and reverse quite slowly or right hand lock and reverse slowly,
if you hear a clicking noise from either side your CV/velocity joint is on its way out

Sounds like the wheel bearing, can you (i know it souds daft) feel the noise through the steering wheel?

Both my front and back, left hand sides went.

yeh i can actually lol. and i just went out and put the car on full lock left and full lock right and went forward and reverse but i didnt get any clunking noises? so u think wheel bearing?
