running a little ruff

Hi gang im new to the world of renault and have just purchased an 02 reg 172 only just covered 53k genuine miles and it has just started to chug on cold start almost to the point of cutting out but never does and then jumps to life and sorts its self out.
If i try to drive off before it settles down it splutters and feels s**t no power and all of a suddon im off like a rocket not to clever in traffic situations lol

any suggestions would be very much apreciated

They are pretty crap when cold, but that sounds worse than normal, when and who did the cam belt change?

hi they are a bit poo on idle. but sounds maybe like a lambda sensor fault
