running rich

have just bought a 172 and it appears to be running really rich. getting around 20mpg on average driving which im told is way too low and there is that rich smell at the exhaust. has matched inlets, yozza decat and race exhaust, 182 manifold and pipercross induction kit.
any ideas wat it mite be?

Been mapped/ adjustable fuel regulator or anything? If they have, they usually have a higher limiter than standard, up from 7.2 rpm iirc. Just make sure its warm when you try it, anything above would say its been remapped (possibly badly if rich lol)

If its running all that I would make sure its been remapped to get the most out of the car. 20mpg is rubbish definately something wrong. Possibly the Lambda sensor as said above.

mine is running 34mpg =]
