RUST!

I took my rear reg. plate off the other day to get rid of the broken surround. Unfortunately I found a spot of rust. :dead: Its no bigger than a finger nail but I want to treat it or something and then cover with a larger plate.

Comments would be appreciated.

sand it back to bare metal, and paint it with rust stopper??

Ok, that sounds easy enough. I'll have a go at it this weekend!

Will I need any other protection following the application of rust stopper?

sand back and around the area so you know the rust hasn't spread then apply the rust remedy treatment stuff,
i would then add a bit of primer to it
and finally just spray top coat
