Sad day, about to list my Cup for sale...

I don't know if this was ever answered.. But no, it wont fail an mot like that (I'm a tester) before, it wasn't even testable, under the new regs the speedo will fail if it's 'obviously defective'
There's no call to drive the car for mot purposes, so theres no way for the tester to fail it. It would fail an sva (single vehicle approval) if it was being reg'd as new, and I'm pretty sure it would be a police/vosa issue of they ever examined it for whatever reason, but again they'd have to pick up on it... So to be fair I wouldn't worry.

Not sure if its been mentioned or not, but...

Surely without the speedo working, the mileage therefore is not moving?!

That would put me off as a perspective buyer.

To be fair its a 120,000 one owner from new track car that's got every bill since new and the owner has documented pretty much all of its life on here and youtube.

Mark is anal about everything. I'm pretty sure he keeps a pie chart about his bowel movements...

He will know when the speedo stopped and will have a record of fuel consumption / usage so will know what miles are on the car.

I'll bet mney on it!

Yup!

Gallons that it's consumed + mileage recorded using an origin b2. As Daniel said earlier though, a notepad and pencil would suffice.

I don't see the mileage as being a major thing to any potential buyer...it's known that mileage means little on these things, and I couldn't be a more open genuine honest seller.

Here's hoping anyway.
