Sad news for you all

Well, its come to an end.

The mint mark 1 Clio you all know i have, has come to an end for the moment.

The engine was making a funny noise yesterday and it seems after getting it checked out, the Big Ends have gone.
The engine has done 66k miles.

Not to say the least im a bit gutted and i now need to get a new engine for it.

Looks like you wont get to see it for the FCS after all.

I wish i could do a conversion, but i then need a new loom, and that will take time. Glad i managed to source a d-type engine replacement.

Oil level was fine, and still is fine. No chance ill put a williams engine in it, insurance would be to dear.

However ive got a d-type lined up im hoping by tomorrow.

Yes, but no point engine has to come out to fix the big ends. May aswell just drop a new engine in for the time of it.

You don't need the engine out to do big end shells. I did mine on my Nova on my drive with the car on axle stands.
Sump off, pick up pipe off, rod caps off, shells out, new shells in and back together in an hour! If they've spun round though the crank will need a re-grind....
