Sanding down side badges

Colour coded my side strips and also done the 1.2 badge in the same colour, with masking tape over the numbers so its silver with a blue plate... That looks crap to be honest!. can i safely sand down the laq and paint and then spray them silver? or am i best to get new badges and start from scratch?

if done correctly this would be possible... although take note... when you get to means of using masking tape on body work your on step one of making a pre pimp my ride car...

m currently designing a massive clio sign that i will mask onto my car (Covers the whole car) and then im gonna spray paint over the exsisting bodywork with a sharp orange colour...
