sat nat help needed

i have a screen built into the dash with a dvd player put into the glove box. it is a nice feature but not used that often. really want to put sat nav in now but spoken to a few people and they said i have to have the motorised screen. all i need is the sat nav box as i have the screen can anyone help?

also was in a tow truck the other day and they had VDO dayton which looked exactly what i needed. would this work?

VDO Dayton are good systems.

Its what the emergency services use, and i believe the Renault Sat Nav uses it aswell.

You can pick up the VDO 5000/5500 for about £500-600 on ebay i think.

That includes screen, and sat nav unit.

Oh, and IIRC Mike172Sport has a VDO system, so it may be worth PMing him to see what he thinks.
