Saw the maddest 172 on earth yesterday

  Yamaha R6

Firstly, Ive never been the number 1 fan of over modified cars with fibre glass bodykits everywhere and lawnmower exhausts, with the little neon jetwashes that make a car look like its part of the christmas festive season. Anyway, I was parked up yesterday afternoon at my friends work....which happens to be next to a damage and repair place, when one of the workers pulled up in one of the most insane clios ive ever seen. It had been down to R-tech and had work done on the arches for lowering onto 19 inch wheels... it had a full custom kit which the guy had done himself cos he worked in the body shop....hed smoothed an Audi TT rear bumper into the original 172 rear....and had like twin 5 inch jap cans sticking out of it. Front had some sort of vw golf splitter smoothed into the original 172 front....it was ridiculously low....maybe 2 inches off the floor at the front. Had like a 5k system in it too.... and the guy doesnt even go to shows or anything its just for his own use and he told me his girlfriend potties about in it most the time, it would easily be worthy of a fast car or max power feature without a doubt. He must of been loopy...although he seemed a nice enough guy. Whether I liked it or not...it was a head turner... be it for the right or wrong reasons. Ive got a few photos of it on my phone which ill put up soonish.

LOL - if the engines standard, Id love to hear the 0-60 time, trying to rotate those 19s and with £5k of stereo stuff in it! Milk-float racing, anyone? ;)

haha.. so why own a 172 2.0ltr 172hp clio ! . its not even easy to drive with its over heavy low speed steering and no low down torque. feels like a 1.2 the wrong RPM. its only good for driving in the red on the limit IMO. moto cruising is not bad and quiet for a car of its type @ speed but still noisy after 70mph cos of only 5 gears. still with 19" wheels it wont be as fast it will corner turd and make soo much road noise.

still get the pics up.

Sorry guys, had to take the missus shopping... and im guessing you all know what how that story ends.

ill put the photos up tommorow morning.

so, debadged front, meshed standard front bumper with splitter, lightly modified rear (wuth body part stuck on) and twin exhaust

correct me if im wrong, but its hardly the "maddest 172 on earth"

ok.. maybe a little bit of an overstatement but its certainly 1 of the most original ive seen... Leather re-trim, £5000 system with removed back seats.... 19 inche wheels which ide say are quite unusual on a clio. theres no need to be a smart arse. =]

dont like that one bit, looks chav.

no offence, im sure alot of hard work has gone into it. as long is makes the owner happy!

ok i really hate MAX POWER stylee cars, but i think sometimes u lot can be a bit harsh.. i think its very original (not saying its nice), and i think that the rear bumper would look gorgeous with some smaller pipes.. everyone knows it will be slower with 19s so why state that, obviously he isnt trying to go fast so come on seriously why make stupid comments?

  mk1 172

mk1 matt, we are just making comments ! sheesh, why do people take things like this too seriously ?! its your car secretly isnt it ? (no offence by the way matey)

i honestly think it looks pretty shamdang ! total pile of poo !

why has it got 2 number plates at the front ?

baffles me why people would do things like this to such a gorgeous automobile !

cheers folks

The back bumper does look very similar to standard just a bit lower , it flows well with the lines of the 172 bumper but the pipes are all wrong

:( Another ruined

Why bother doing this to such a nice car as standard?

If you want to chav up your car gat a nova or a corsa (like I did lol) that way you arent wasting much money.

Madness, he will regret it when he sees sense
