Scottish Noob...

Car  RenaultSport clio 172 Cup
Hi guys,

I'd spoken to a few of you recently at Falkirk wheel and promised at the time that i'd sign up.

So here I am!

I'm 24 and live in Edinburgh and just recently bought myself a clio.

I've been a bit of a car ***** of late.... but I suspect that the Clio will be here to stay.

Heres a few pictures of my previous cars:

First up is my 106 Gti

Kept that for about 2 years - and to date remains one of the best cars i've owned.

Then I got my hands on a 205 Mi16, which to be honest was a disaster from the word go, but i'll not go in to that...!

After that, I bought my mates 200bhp Civic

After spending a fortune on the Civic, i went all "old man" and bought a 406 Coupe..... 3.0 V6 and very thirsty.

The coop just wasnt any fun so finally i've got myself this..... and i'm totally in love with it

Nice last pic! 205 looks stunning!

200 from the civic!? how? VTi evidently? b16?

The Civic was an imported SirII

Originally had a full Integra Type R engine in it... but the bottom end blew up on that and was replaced with a similar B18 from an Integra SI / Civic VTI-S.

Seriously quick car, but a severe lack of torque. It ran pretty much a 14 second dead 1/4 mile just before i'd sold it. But it was in desparate need of a remap as i'd just rebuilt it AGAIN with High Compression B16B pistons, taken from a Civic EK9.

Sorry bout the size of the pics by the way!

D'oh - good spot mate.

I'd actually never noticed that... its goin back to the garage to get a shockie replaced on Saturday anyways - so i'll mention that to them and see if I can get it done under their warranty... Cheers!

Hi mate, welcome to the club. Like Rory says, check the road trip thread in the meets section, meet up with the east coast crew and come along for a chuckle. Be nice to see another cup:)

Yo, welcome! A very nice selection of cars there!

How does the Cup compare to your other cars?

Tyson.

Alright Erik, nice to see another Scot on board. I think I used to see your old 106 about town a few times. Enjoy the Cup and watch it in this mad weather wer are having here!

Doesnt feel quite as quick as the civic, but not far short. Main advantage the Civic had was the LSD which comes as standard in the Intrgra Type R Gearbox.... that and the high revving engine.

The 106 was a quick wee beastie, but the Clio feels a fair bit quicker than that.

The 406 would destroy it top end I reckon, but off the mark it would be waaaaaaay slower than the clio.

^^ Thats good to hear, are you going to do anything to your Cup? It sounds like you're fairly switched on when i comes to tuning cars...

Tyson.

Wont be anything to wild I dont think. Few minor touches here and there.

Want to try and keep the car fairly practical.... but we'll see how long that lasts lol
